This is an old issue raised by Will at, http://forums.asp.net/p/1715081/4723882.aspx that executionTimeout is not supported in MVC because it has async http handler.
Currently, both MVC 4 and Web API does not support this. Curious to know any plan to support this?
Comments: We have already passed the execution timeout cancellation token to the web api pipeline, so it will start honoring that. For MVC, we have [AsyncTimeout] action filter to limit *execution timeout* from an action. So we should use that instead of the executionTimeout from ASP.NET pipeline.
