If the Add Service Reference wizard fails whilst generating the service references, the service reference is still added to the project (in VS2012) but can no longer be updated or even deleted!
The error is "The .svcmap file cannot be found. It may have been moved or deleted. To generate a new .svcmap file, delete the service reference and add it again."
This is a particularly humorous error message because it occurs whilst trying to delete the service reference and prevents it's deletion.
A valid workaround is to delete the folder in the file system.
Comments: Looks like a tooling bug. Our team doesn't own the ASR (Add service reference) tooling. We will open a bug internally with the corresponding team and track it.
